About Casares
Casares is one of Andalucía's most spectacular pueblos blancos — a white village clinging to a clifftop above a ruined Moorish castle, with views across to Gibraltar and Africa. It is the birthplace of the famous Spanish liberal politician Blas Infante, and one of the most photographed villages in Spain.

Best Time to Visit
Spring and autumn for walking. The village is at its most beautiful in April when wildflowers cover the hillsides.
Getting There
25 minutes from Estepona, 40 minutes from Marbella. Car essential.
Local Tips
Come early morning before the tour buses arrive. The views from the castle ruins at sunrise are extraordinary. The village bakery opens at 7am and the bread is exceptional.
